Arthur C. Meeks, 81, 404 E. Washington St., senior partner of the M.L. Meeks and Sons Mortuary, died early Wednesday at his home following a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Meeks Mortuary with the Rev. Harold D. Neel and the Rev. Russell W. Lockwood officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Meeks, a native of Muncie, had been associated with the mortuary since a young man, along with his brother, Ernest, and another brother, Charles, who died two years ago.
He was a 1897 graduate of Muncie High School, a member of the High Street Methodist and a director of the Merchants Trust Co. He was also a member of the IOOF Lodge and a 50-year member of both the Eagles Lodge and the Muncie Lodge of Masons.
Surviving are his wife, Nellie; a daughter, Mrs. Loren Ford of The Dalles, Ore.; a son, David, of Muncie; a sister, Mary Meeks; a brother, Ernest, of Muncie; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call at the mortuary after 3 p.m. Thursday.
