Born in Muncie, he was the son of Martin L. and Carrie (Clark) Meeks. He had resided in the Muncie community most of his life. Mr. Meeks served in the Army in World War I.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Delaware Post 19 of the American Legion, and the Moose Lodge and Muncie Club.
He had been a member of Muncie Lodge 433, F&AM, and Muncie Commandery 18, Knights of Templar, for more than 50 years adn also was a member of Muncie Chapter 30, RAM; Muncie Council 16, R&SM, and the Murat Shrine.
Surviving are a sister, Miss Mary W. Meeks, with whom he made his home; a niece, Mrs. Loren Ford, Davenport, Wash.; a nephew, David Meeks, Muncie; and four graet nieces and nephews. A brother, Arthur Meeks, died in 1959, and another brother, Charles Meeks, in 1957.
Services will be at Meeks Mortuary at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Robert Denney officiating. Interment will be in the family lot in Beech Grove Cemetery at 10 a.m. Monday.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and prior to services Sunday. The casket will not be opened.
