GOODPINE — Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today at Goodpine Baptist Church for Alvin Lee Prince, 85, of Goodpine. The Revs. Larry Adams and Earl Reeves officiated, with burial in Belah Cemetery near Trout under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.

Mr. Prince died Monday at Rapides General Hospital after a long illness.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Vama [sic Bama] Dees Prince of Goodpine; three sons, Otha Prince of Packton, Alvin Prince of Sicily Island and Williard [sic Willard] Prince of Boyce; three daughters, Miss Ahlene Prince, Mrs. Melba Prince [Smith], both of Goodpine, and Mrs. Elsie Scarber of Austin, Tex.; a brother, I. J. Prince of Minden; one sister, Mrs. E. A. Hamilton of Lake Charles; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
