Richard Leo "Cotton" Worm, age 81, of Conway passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011. He was a retired beef cattle farmer. He was born in Conway on April 3,1930 to the late Anton and Clara George Worm.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Jeannette Dayer Worm, three children, Scott, Bridget and Brenda Worm. He was also preceded in death by a sister Rose Mary Worm and a brother Norman Worm.

Richard was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a graduate of St. Joseph School System. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Knights of America, and served in the United States Army.

He coordinated the funeral receptions for St. Joseph Church, helped with the St. Joseph Senior Saints Bingo, and was active with the St. Joseph Bazaar for many years. "Cotton" was an avid New York Yankees and Notre Dame football fan. He coached St. Joseph Pee Wee basketball and coached many of the same young men on the Knights of Columbus softball team.

He is survived by daughters Elaine Reid and husband Bill, Karen Powell and husband Gary; three grandchildren Chase Williams(Mara), Blake Williams, and Seth Powell; a great grandson Sawyer Williams; brother Andrew Worm; and sisters Lucille Guy, Margaret Strack, and Nettie Elsinger; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, May 27, 2011 at Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Warren Harvey and Father Charlie Thessing as Celebrants.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery with Ronnie Strack, Kenny Strack, Ray Strack, Jim Strack, David Strack, and Marty Strack serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be his former ball players. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm on Thursday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with visitation to follow at the home of Gary and Karen Powell, 33 Dace Place, Conway.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: St. Joseph School Endowment, P.O. Box 72, Conway, AR 72033.
