MORRISTOWN - Ina Mallory Bates, age 48, Morristown died Monday, October 27, 2003 at her home after a short battle with cancer.
She was a member of New Life Primitive Baptist Church, Whitesburg and sang with the Old Time Gospel singers for 12 years. She worked at Walters State Community College for nine years before helping to establish Valley Instant Printing in 1989. She served as assistant manager until June 2003.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Price Mallory, Rogersville.
She is survived by her father, W. Hayden Mallory, Rogersville; husband Robert L. Bates of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Wendi C. and Paul Douthat, Rogersville; grandsons, Austin and Aaron Mullins, Rogersville; brother, Douglas W. Mallory, Memphis; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth Ann and Lee Gosnell, Morristown; and mother-in-law, Ella Bates, Rutledge.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at Stubblefield Funeral Home, Morristown, with funeral services immediately following. Elder David Jerrell will officiate. Interment at Highland Cemetery, Rogersville at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2003. Arrangements by Stubblefield Funeral Home.
