DALLAS - Hunt County native John Lawrence Scott, 75, of Route 1, Whitney, died at 3 p.m. Sunday in an Irving hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Restland Wildwood Chapel with Rev. B.C. Housewright officiating. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park.
He was born July 18, 1908 in Hunt County to Knox and Clara Tillman Scott. He was a self-employed mechanic for heavy duty road equipment.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Scott of Whitney; sons, Billy Scott of Barrington, R.I. and John Scott of Whitney; daughters, Bobbie Lytal of Meridan, Conn., Wanda Skidmore of Irving, LaJoy Garcia of The Colony and Pamela Watts of Greenville; brothers, F.H. Scott of Greenville, T.L. Scott of Mount Pleasant, Douglas Scott of Paris and Paul Scott of Brazoria; sisters, Sadie Record of Texarkana and Jo Meadlin of Arlington; 18 grandchildren; and five grandchildren (sic).
