Norb was in the infantry in World War II; he was part of the D-Day invasion in Normandy and his unit liberated a concentration camp during the drive into Germany. He married Charlotte Shaw 01 Jul 1948. He and Charlotte lived for many years in Anaheim, California, where they raised their three children, but removed to Colorado Springs, Colorado upon retirement.

NORBERT JOSEPH RICKERL,79, a clerk, died Nov. 7, 1997, in Colorado Springs.

Mr. Rickerl was born June 15, 1918, in Dell Rapids, S.D. He was married July 1, 1948, to Charlotte Shaw, who survives.

He also is survived by two sons, Jarl and Darrell; a daughter, Janet Damerell; two brothers, Dayle and Arnold; and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 1520 E. Yampa St. Pikes Peak Funeral and Cremation Services, 3825 Airport Road, 596-3842, is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis, 7665 Assisi Heights, Colorado Springs 80919.
