Hardie Odessa "Dee" Davis (1918 - 2011)

Dee Davis, 92, went home to her heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Dee was born July 30, 1918, in Rising Star to Hardie Russell and Mini Lee Brooks. She married John A. Davis on March 26, 1955, and they were married for 55 years. She was the sole survivor of her nine brothers and sisters which is a testament to her love of God and to her family. Dee always made herself available to her husband and children and often put their needs above her own. Dee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and her nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors: Her son, Jonathan Davis of Fort Worth; daughter, Shirley Hill of McKinney; grandson, Rodney Tidwell of McKinney; granddaughters, Becky Gilcrease of Arlington and Karen Davis of McKinney; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
