Bom May 6, 1918, in Knox City, he served with the armed forces in India and Australia during World War II.

S/Sgt. Horace Moore, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Moore, Olney, husband of Mildred Faye Cox, graduate of Olney High. Entered AAC, 1940, trained at Kelly Field, Tex. and Chanute Field, Ill. Served in Australia and India. Awarded GCM, Pre-Pearl Harbor Ribbon, APO and 5 Battle Stars. Discharged in 1945.

He and Mildred Fay Cox were married November 17, 1945, in Breckenridge. Before his retirement he worked in advertising. He had lived in Houston for 35 years prior to moving to Brownwood in 1982. He was a member of the Church of Christ

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary Moore of Weatherford and Larry Moore of Brownwood; two daughters, Terry Sue Hills of Pasadena and Horacine Daugrid of Friendswood; two sisters, Olga M Ray of San Antonio and Virginia Moore of Olney, and seven grandchildren.
