Dorothy Louise Williams 89, of Perry Hannibal Courier-Post Posted Apr 01, 2009 @ 10:45 PM Perry, MO — Memorial services for Dorothy Louise Williams, 89, of Perry will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2009, at the Perry Baptist Church with Reverend Dan Porter and Reverend John Grimmett officiating. Burial will be in Lick Creek Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Mrs. Williams passed away at 3:40 p.m. March 31, 2009, at Hannibal Regional Hospital. She was born Feb. 24, 1920, in Ralls County, the daughter of Roy W. and Viola Edith Fanning Hawkinson. She was married to Russell E. Williams on Sept. 17, 1956, in St. Louis and he preceded her in death Nov. 14, 1975. Survivors include several cousins, and among them special cousins, Kathy Bramblett of Center and Jane Aschemann of Quincy, Ill. She was preceded in death by one sister Mary Madalyn Hawkinson. Mrs. Williams grew up in the Perry area, graduated in 1938 from Perry High School and moved to St. Louis where she remained for 25 years owning and operating Dorothy's Beauty Shoppe. She moved back here in 1980 and opened Dorothy's Beauty Shoppe in Perry. She retired after 55 years in the business. She was the oldest living member of the Perry Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for over 10 years. She was a member of the Perry Entre Nous Club, the Perry Study Club and an avid Cardinal fan. Dorothy was very proud that she was a direct descendent of the famous golfer, Walter Hagan. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry Baptist Church, Lick Creek Cemetery or Perry Nutrition Center.
