Mae Baker married Samuel Wallace Williams,Sr. They raised 10 children in San Saba, Texas. Due to health reasons, she lived with her daughter, Elizabeth Wood Cheek at Sundown, Texas in the final year of her life. At her death her obit and her death certificate indicate that she was buried in the Lubbock City Cemetery, Lubbock,TX.There is no grave marker and the plot records were lost during a time when several small cemeteries where taken in as a part of the Lubbock City Cemetery.
A cenotaph stone was installed at her husband's grave site in Kermit,Texas, indicating that she is buried in an unmarked grave in the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
Mae was a descendant of prominent San Saba County,Texas families. Two of her grandfathers, a great grandfather and and two uncles fought with Sam Houston in the Army of the Republic of Texas. Her great grandfather Spencer Morris,Sr and two of her uncles fought in the Battle of San Jacinto, when Texas won it's independence from Mexico. Her great grandfather also fought in the War of 1812 and was with Andrew Jackson at the Battle of New Orleans.
