Albert Johnson Gordon, age 63, passed away at a Union Hospital Thursday afternoon after an illness of only a few days. He was a merchant at Burnside and had resided there for a number of years. He was born in Choctaw County and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Gordon. He moved to Neshoba County about thirty years ago and had made his home here since then.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Vera Gordon; two sons, Charlie Gordon of Jackson, and Cpl Carvel Gordon who is now somewhere overseas; daughters, Mrs Gurvis Widbee of Clarksdale, Mrs. J.L. Dunkelberger of Canton and Miss Hilda Fryery of St. Louise, Mo.; one brother, Rev Samuel Gordon of Amite, La.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at eleven o'clock at Salem Church with Rev. Ernest Crenshaw of Burnside in charge.

Interment was in the Salem Church Cemetery.
