Edna Grace Barnett
ELDORADO, ILL. —
Edna Grace Barnett, 82, a resident of Fountain View Nursing Home and formerly of Harrisburg, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
Edna was born on Nov. 17, 1928, in Macon, Ga., to the late Ennis "Hartley" and Lucille (Brannon) Barnette. She married Marvin Barnett on Aug. 15, 1948, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1969.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg.
Edna is survived by one son, Greg Barnett and wife Donna of Harrisburg; brother, Richard Earle Barnette and wife Evelyn of Macon, Ga.; brother, Bobby Ray Barnette and wife Annette of Macon, Ga.; sister-in-law, Rose Barnette of Macon, Ga.; brother-in-law, Leslie Culpepper of North Augusta, S.C.; brother-in-law, Rudolph Barnett and wife Jeanne of McLeansboro; brother-in-law, Gene Barnett and wife Sandy of Homewood; sister-in-law, Dorothy Williams of Herod; two grandchildren, Brittney Chrisman of St. Louis, Mo.; and Andrea Fetter of Marion; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Fetter and Elladi Fetter of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; brother, Leonard H. Barnette; and sister, Helen Barnette Culpepper.
Funeral services for Edna Grace Barnett will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg. The Rev. David Estep will officiate; burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church and envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
