They spent their married years farming in Denton, Milam and Eastland Counties Texas before moving to Houston, Harris, Texas about 1937 and eventually living in a house Jim built on Julia Street, a still rural area at the time, behind the present day Northline Mall near Interstate 45 North and South and Crosstimbers Exit....

...Samantha and Jim were the parents of 10 children who for the most part all lived into their late 80s and 90s....with Carlton living to almost 100...
