He was born in Rocky River and had resided in Monroeville since 1972, coming from the New London area. He was a retired farmer and owned Lee's Grill in Monroeville from 1972 to 1982. He was a former member of the Norwalk Moose and Eagle lodges, the Monroeville Kiwanis Club and the New London Grange.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Jean (Bauer), to whom he was married 50 years; daughter Sandra Sanders of Norwalk; son Bruce Landphair of Norwalk; three grandchildren and sisters Mrs. Raymond (Emily) Jones of Olmsted Falls, Mrs. Robert (Anna May) Vergith of Westlake and Mrs. Kenneth (Mary Louise) Schwartz of Clarkdale, Ariz.
