Thyra Colebank, 75, Litchville, died Sunday, January 16, 2000, at the Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 20 at First Lutheran Church, Litchville, with the Rev. Ray Heidtke officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery near Litchville.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday with the family present to meet with friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Peterson-Johnson-Schuldt Funeral Home in Valley City.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Thyra Ann Blanche Gustafson was born July 9, 1924 to Olav and Myrtle (Hams) Gustafson in Warren, Minn. She grew up and graduated from school in Badger, Minn.,and then attended St. Michael's Nursing School in Grand Forks.

She married Norman Colebank on February 5, 1944 in Grand Forks. They lived in Friend, Neb., Jamestown and Berlin before they moved to Litchville in 1951 where they settled and raised their family.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Litchville, the Sarah Circle and the Ladies VFW Auxiliary of Valley Bity.

Survivors are her husband, Norman; two sons: Michael (Sharla), Lafayette, LA and Stephen (J.), Benton, AZ.; four daughters: Carolyn Sue (Craig) Hofstrand, Deland, FL.; Candace (Billy) Williams, Papillion, Neb., Kimberly (Gary) Botner, West Fargo and Kathleen Hansen, New London, Conn.; daughter-in-law, Ann Colebank,Lawrence, Kan.; one brother, Nathan (Elinor), Gustafson, Badger, Minn,; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and four great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, one son and two grandsons.
