Batterton Funeral Services at Franklin

Victor Paul Batterton died on September 2 in a Caney Kansas Hospital. He was formerly employed in a Caney furniture store. In February of this year he was forced to give up his work due to ill health.

He was born at Franklin, Arkansas on February 11, 1906 and spent his entire life there on a farm until 1946. He spent the last few years in Caney, Kansas.

He was married to Audie Simpson, daughter of Mr and Mrs Elmer Simpson of Franklin on September 1, 1925. His death started on his and Audie's thirtieth wedding anniversary and took him away on his grandson's first birthday.

He was the youngest son of the late Frank and Dollie Batterton, which preceded him in death by 9 and 13 years. He is survived by his wife Audie, one son, Dale and wife, Danelle of Caney, Kansas and one daughter, Jean and husband, Richard Foreman and little grandson Paul Lee Foreman. He is also survived by four brothers, Hugh of Marmaduke, Herb of Batesville, Lloyd and Arnold both of Franklin.

Funeral services were held on September 4 at the Franklin Community building with the Crouch Funeral Home in charge and Bro. Mills officiating. The body was laid at rest in the Violet Hill Cemetery.
