"CHARLIE W. BROWN RITES HELD HERE MONDAY AFTERNOON -
Charlie Walker Brown, 65, died at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville late Saturday after several months illness of heart trouble.
Mr. Brown was reared in Hickman County and came to Lewis county 14 years ago and resided on his farm just south of Hohenwald.
He was married early in life to Miss Clara DePriest who survives with five chidren, two sons and three daughters; The daughters, Mrs. Mazelle Elkins, Old Hickory, Tenn., Mrs. Hazell (sic) Davis, Cullman, Ala and Mrs. Mary Helen Blanchette, South Braintree, Mass; The sons are James of this city and Hollis of Nashville.
Two brothers, Lee Roy Brown, Hohenwald and Oscar Brown of Detroit, Mich., and three sisters, Mrs. Ada Thomas, Memphis, Mrs. Lova Lynch, Aetna, and Mrs. Bonnie Chessor, Pleasantville Hickman County. Eight grandchildren and a large host of near relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the Church of Christ here at 2 p.m. Monday by Rev. Woodroe Stockman of Deerfield, Lawrence County with burial in the Edwards Cemetery on Cane Creek, nine miles north of Hohenwald.
He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church."

NOTE: His son, James Turner Brown (1915-1977) and wife,Bessie Mae (Jobe) Brown are buried in Swiss Cemetery, Lewis Co., TN.
