Lorene L. Martin 1922 - 2006 Atchison

Services for Lorene L. Martin, 84, Atchison, were Wednesday at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home in Atchison. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens in Atchison. Mrs. Martin died Sunday, May 21, 2006, at Atchison Senior Village. She was born May 3, 1922, in Lexington, MO, the daughter of Claude James and Lilly Mae Bryan Raybern. She attended Trinity Lutheran School. Mrs. Martin worked at the Wilson Poultry Plant in Atchison. She was a nurses' aid for Atchison Hospital and the Mount Saint Scholastica Convent. She also worked for Atchison Senior Village in the laundry department for a number of years. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church. She married Milburn Martin on June 3, 1941. He died in January 1973. A son, Robert Martin, died in 1984. Survivors include a son, Allen Martin, Atchison; a daughter, Roberta Coloff, Fort Collins, CO; a brother Charles Raybern; four sisters, Susie Crawford, Catherine Goetler, Geraldine Thomas and Donna Bagby; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family received friends Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials to the Alzheimer's Assn. or Trinity Lutheran School Endowment Fund.
