Ben A. Hansen was born May 4, 1907 in Nebraska. About 1912, he came to South Dakota with parents.
Ben was married February 23, 1932 in Huron, SD to Helen L. Bingham, d/o George B. & Mary E. (Kenyon), of Burdette Township, Hand County. They were parents of three children; Marvella, Maxon, and James.
They farmed near Bonilla, (Beadle Co.,), and then in Brown County and Hand County until 1937. At that time, they moved to Oregon where he worked in the lumber industry. They returned to Wolsey, SD in 1943, and farmed southwest of town until they retired in 1978.
Ben died June of 1987 in Wolsey, Beadle Co., SD, at 80 years of age. He is buried in Restlawn Memory Garden Cemetery in Huron, SD.
