Alice Barnett Hippert, 82, of Crozet died at a local hospital on Wednesday, December 5, 2007.
She was born in Albemarle County on March 24, 1925, the daughter of the late Robert Allen Barnett and Mary Elizabeth Barnett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max "Pete" A. Hippert Jr.: two brothers, Frank and Allen Barnett.
She is survived by one daughter, Catherine "Kitty” Smiley of Charlottesville, one granddaughter, Khristina "Krisy" Hammill and her husband, Clifford: two great-grandsons. Tyler and Cole; two brothers, Forrest Barnette of Charlottesville and Albert Barnette of Chico, California; one sister. Bettie Chrisman of Crozet.
Alice worked at Acme and retired from Comdial. She was a member of the Crozet United Methodist Church.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Gordon Morris, his staff and the staff on Martha Jefferson seventh floor.
The family will receive friends at the Anderson Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday. December 7, 2007.
A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2007, at the Crozet United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville, Virginia with the Reverend Tom Maddrey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial contributions be made in honor of the life of Alice Barnett Hippert and in appreciation and recognition of the care provided our family by Dr. Gordon Morris his staff and the staff of seventh floor of Martha Jefferson Hospital.
