Funeral services for Mrs. Ed Vance, age 35, who died Sunday morning at the home of her mother, Mrs. Mary C. Allen, in Boyce, were held Monday at the Boyce Methodist Church with the Rev. Z. R. Fee of Dallas officiating. Interment was made in Myrtle Cemetery, Ennis.
Pallbearers were P. J. Dahnke, Louis Patton, Homer Lightsey, Bob Davis, Peter Harris and George Pate.
Mrs. Vance, nee Marjorie Frances Merritt, was born Jan 31, 1901, in McMinville, TN, and came to Texas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Merritt at the age of 6 months. They settled on a farm near Ennis, where they lived for 6 years, moving to Boyce where her father died several years ago. She was married in 1924 to Ed Vance. They lived in Boyce for a while before moving to Boswell, OK, where Mr. Vance died three years ago. Since his death she has lived in Boyce.
Surviving are 6 children, 4 sons, Raymond, Tom, Edward Jr., and Merritt Randle Vance, and 2 daughters, Billy Joe and Dorothy Vance. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary C. Allen, three sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Connie Lisman, Troup; Mrs. Amos Ticer, Boyce; Mrs. J. G. Ratliff, Dallas; J. W. Merritt, Forreston; A. V. Merritt, Ennis; Firm Merritt, Boyce and A. R. Merritt, Kaufman.
