Captain D. A. Endicott Passes to the Great Beyond
Another old soldier has answered the final reveille in the person of Captain David Allen Endicott, who peacefully breathed his last on Wednesday morning at his residence on Second street. He had been critically ill for some time prior to his death. The deceased saw active service during the war as a Lieutenant in the regulars, and was later the Captain of militia. Captain Endicott was a well known member of Ellsworth Post, G.A.R., and took a deep interest in all affairs connected with the veterans. His familiar figure will be missed from the streets and campfires given under the G.A.R. auspices.
Captain Endicott was an old resident of Santa Rosa. He was seventy five years of age and was born in Ohio. The wife that survives him, walked the path of life with him for over half a century.
His three surviving children are Mrs . Francis McCray, W.O. Endicott of Upper Lake and Perry Endicott .
The funeral will occur on Friday morning at an hour which will be announced.

Age 19, November 1, 1848, David Endicott married Margaret Jane Nordyke in Howard County Indiana.
June 20th, 1861 David was a member of the Volunteer Livingston County Missouri Home Guards, enlisted as a private, Co. E 2nd Cavalry Missouri , also known as 'Merrill's Horse' ,(Capt. Lewis Merrill's Union Horse Regiment). August 28th, 1863 joined Co. I, 11th Missouri Cavalry as 2nd Lt.
He mustered out August 18th, 1864.
David and Margaret's children were; Mary E., Samantha E, Frances Caroline, Willard Orlando, C. W., Amanda Jennie, Hiram B, and Perry Albert Endicott.
