This has now been discovered to be a duplicate, caused by spelling problems. However, Find A Grave has attached his famous daughter, Sibbell AKA Sybil to this memorial, so I am trying to relay all the data her to the original
entry.

"This is the famous Col. Henry Ludington of the Revolutionary War. Henry made a name for himself in the French & Indian War and was in charge of the local militia for the lower mart of Dutchess County, NY during the Revolutionary War. He moved to NY from CT about 1762 or even before as he appears as a sub-sherriff of Dutchess County in 1763. He operated a grist mill and store in Luddington (now Kent), NY and is buried nearby in a large cemetary at Patterson, NY of NYS 311. He was a member of the legislature from 1771-1781 and from 1786-87 and was a trustee of the Presbyterian Church."
