Callie was the daughter of Archibald F. & Zilphia Jane Stone Osborne. She married Jacob Salyer, the son of James & Matilda Jeans Salyer, on August 8, 1895 in Scott County.

•Obituary-Mrs. Callie M. Salyer, 78, died Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at her home on the Hiltons, Va.-Benhams Route.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W.M. Fugate, Hiltons, Va., and Mrs. N.H. Rodefer, Blountville; six sons, Roy, Blountville, Charlie, Hiltons, Gilmer, Blountville, Carson, Hiltons, Ralph, Briston, Tenn., and J.L. Salyer, Benhams, Va; 44 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Beech Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. N.P. King, the Rev. Lucian Lane, and the Rev. T.R. Carter will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bud Derting, Scott Hilton, W.M. Fugate, Joe Carter, Lake Olinger, Okla Hobbs, Worley Osborne and Randolph Osborne.
