Martinsville at Saint George – Verona B. "Dot" Miller, 104, died peacefully, at the Courtyard, at Quarry Hill, in Camden.

Born in Port Clyde, she was the daughter of Winslow, and Rosa Leloyd Watt. At a young age, she moved with her family, to Martinsville, and attended local schools.

As a teen, she moved to Portland, where she worked in a department store. While in that city, she met her future husband, Clayton Raymond Miller, and they were married in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. The couple made their first home in Portland, where their four children, were born. Following Mr. Miller's untimely death, in an automobile accident, in 1930, Mrs. Miller returned to Martinsville, and Port Clyde, with her children.

In 1942, she moved with her children to Rockland, where she worked at several clothing stores, before beginning employment at Van Baalen, where she worked more than 20 years.

Mrs. Miller never remarried, but considered her greatest vocation, to be that of mother. She was affectionately known to many as, "Nanny Miller".

She not only made many of her children's clothes, but also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and working with her hands. Her family said that she was a wonderful cook, but was especially recognized for the pies she made.

At the time of her death, Mrs. Miller was the oldest living member of the Ridge Baptist Church, and was holder of Town of St. George, Boston Post Cane.

Other than her husband, and parents, Mrs. Miller was pre-deceased by one brother; three sisters; her son Winslow Miller, Sr.; three grandchildren, Winslow Miller, Jr., Scottie Curtis, and Harry Curtis, Jr. She is survived by one son, Donald R. Miller, and his wife, Deloris, of Martinsville; two daughters, Verona B. Curtis, of Port Clyde, Thelma L.
