He died Tuesday at St. Francis Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bessie Cassels Griffin of Columbia; two daughters, Mrs. Doris McKee of Columbia and Mrs. Edna Gunn of Enterprise; three sons, L. D. Griffin Jr. and Billy Griffin, both of Columbia and Bennie Griffin of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. J.H. McNeil and Mrs. George Specht, both of Columbia; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Johnny Gunn, Malvin McKee, Wayne McKee, Bennie Lynn Griffin, Todd Griffin, Donald Lee Griffin, L.D. Griffin, George Griffin and Charles Neil Griffin.
