The funeral of L. D. Griffin Sr., 75, of Columbia was held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Sandy Bayou Baptist Church with the Rev. Hubert Remore and the Rev. Frank Bass officiating. Burial was in Rosefield Cemetery under direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home.
He died Tuesday at St. Francis Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bessie Cassels Griffin of Columbia; two daughters, Mrs. Doris McKee of Columbia and Mrs. Edna Gunn of Enterprise; three sons, L. D. Griffin Jr. and Billy Griffin, both of Columbia and Bennie Griffin of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. J.H. McNeil and Mrs. George Specht, both of Columbia; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Johnny Gunn, Malvin McKee, Wayne McKee, Bennie Lynn Griffin, Todd Griffin, Donald Lee Griffin, L.D. Griffin, George Griffin and Charles Neil Griffin.
