Charles David Cornette age 75, Of Prestonsburg, Ky., passed away January 17, 2011, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 18, 1935, in Floyd Co.Ky., a son of the late Otto and Gladys Stapleton Cornette.
He was a Disabled Auto Mechanic and attended Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Howard Cornette, two sisters, Barbara Cornette and Phyllis Haywood.
Surviving are his wife, Lucy Jane Thompson Cornette, two sons, David Michael Cornette and Timothy Lee Cornette both of Prestonsburg, two daughters, Melissa Lynn Johnson of Hickory, NC., and Amanda Lynn Compton of Georgetown,Ky., four brothers, Ronnie Cornette of Paintsville, Doug Cornette and John Cornette both of Prestonsburg, and Asstor Cornette of MI., three sisters, Shirley Tussey of Prestonsburg, Ilene Dyson of Augusta, GA., and Freda Fuller of GA., and four grandchildren, Nicole Brook Johnson, Katie Lynn Johnson, Jacob David Compton and Joshua Matthew Compton.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Thursday, January 20, 2011, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky., with Nathan Lafferty officiating. Burial will be in Mayo Cemetery, Prestonsburg, Ky.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at the funeral home.
