A native of Salem Township, Mrs. Acker was a life resident of Delaware County and had attended Crossroads School. She was a well known poet, and a selection of her work had been published in the book, "Soliloquies in Rhyme."
Mrs. Acker was a member of Tabor Christian Church, the WCTU of the church, Salem Homemakers and the Indiana State Composers Association, of which she was a past president. She was a charter member of the Federation Chorus and was instrumental in organizing the Rhythm Band of the Madison Street Senior Citizens, to which she also belonged.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Charles (Lizzie) Phelps, R.R.1 Daleville; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Meeks Mortuary with Rev. Kenneth Cooper officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Tomlinson Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 3-7 p.m. today or prior to the services Sunday.
