JOHN S. ABBOTT STRICKEN AT 77
John S. Abbott, 77, a resuident of Adams, Adams County, since 1948, died at 2:30 p.m. yesterday in St. Claire hospital. He had been a medical patient there since Nov. 26.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Roseberry funeral home at Friendship. Burial will be in Fordham cemetery there. Friends may call this evening at the funeral home.
John Samuel Abbott was born in Dixon, Illinois, December 4, 1885. He was married to Katy Secoy in 1903. She died in 1961. Mr. Abbott was a retired carpenter.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Tony (Pauline) Mannone, South Beloit, Ill.; a son, John (Dewey), of Webster, and 6 grandchildren.

ADAMS- Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Roseberry Funeral Home for John Samuel Abbott, 78, Adams, who died at 2:30 a.m. Monday at St. Clair's Hospital in Monroe after a lingering illness. The Rev. Charles Bryan of the Congregational Church officiated and burial was in Fordham Cemetery.
Mr. Abbott was born December 4, 1885, in Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ansey Abbott. He married Kitty Secoy in 1903 and worked as a carpenter. His wife preceded him in death in 1961.
Survivors include one son, John Dewey Abbott, Webster, Wisconsin; one daughter, Mrs. Tony Mannone, South Beloit; and two sister, Mrs. William Jensen and Mrs. Grace Jensen, both of Nelson, Illinois.
