---Mr. Longfield was born April 24, 1884 in Lewis County, the son of Elizabeth West and Eugene Longfield.
---He was married to Anna Dora Simmons who preceded him in death in 1926. One son, Luther Longfield of Kirksville, was born to this union.
---Later he was married to Ada Magers.
---Surviving are his son Luther and an aunt, Mrs. Minnie Bland of Clinton, Missouri.
---Preceding him in death were a brother Lewis and a sister, Ruth.
---For many years Mr. Longfield was a farmer and a concrete contractor. Samples of his work, including the overhead highway 63 bridge over the Santa Fe Railroad north of town, still stands.
---He was a member of the Baptist Church where services will be held at 3:00 this afternoon. Rev. Claude Thompson will officiate.
---Pallbearers will be Herman Crawford, Matt Anderson, Harold Hawkings, Leonard Eitel, Leland Turner and Bill Collins.
