I have researched the Oberdorf emmigrants from the County of Wertheim while living in Germany. I also obtained a copy of the Baptism record in the Protestant Parish Register at Diedenhan, County of Wertheim. It is there that Valentin Oberdorf was born in October 1735. He was baptised on 29 October 1735.
His name was changed by English Immigration upon his arrival in the US on 24 September 1753 on the ship 'Neptun'.
Seven of his children were baptized in the Christ Lutheran Church in York Twp, York Co., PA.
1. Johannes/John b. 28 July 1760
2. Martin b.18 Oct. 1762
3. Catherine bapt. 1766
4. Anna Maria b. 22 Dec. 1767
5. Simon b. 2 Jan. 1771 and his twin -
6. Samuel b. 2 Jan. 1771 no further record of him
7. Conrad b. 6 May 1774
