TAYLOR - Levi Judkins Hansen, 93, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at McKay-Dee Hospital from causes incident to age.
He was born February 26, 1910 in Warren, Utah to Louis Alma and Sarah (Judkins) Hansen. He was a member of the first graduating class at Weber High School. He also attended BYU.
Levi married Dora Jane Child on November 22, 1933 in the Salt Lake Temple. He shared 58 years of marriage with his beloved wife prior to her death on January 12, 1992.
He was a High Priest in the Taylor 3rd Ward. He found great joy in temple work and was always devoted in his church service and assignments.
He served as a medic in the National Guard. He retired as an aircraft mechanic at Hill Air Force Base after many years of service.
Levi had a green thumb. He loved to garden and share the fruits and bounty of his harvest. He could be seen riding his bicycle throughout the community until he was 90.
He took great pride and joy in his family. Surviving are two sons and four daughters, Darrell (Ann) Hansen, Dennis (Mary) Hansen, and SueAnn Pingrey, all of Taylor; Karen (Ben) Maxfield, Harrisville; Elaine (Robert) McLean, West Weber; Kathy Taylor, Salt Lake City; 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Orvel J. Hansen, Warren; and Edward J. Hansen, Ogden.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Taylor 3rd Ward Chapel, 2200 S 4300 W. Friends may call on Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., and on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church.
Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
