Thomas William Schaller, 74, Canton, formerly of Palmyra, died Wednesday, January 9, 2002, at Hannibal Regional Hospital. Born January 27, 1927, Worland, Wyoming, son of William T. and Florence V. Carroll Schaller. He married Dorothy L. Miller, June 7, 1952, at Palmyra. She preceded him in death November 9, 1975. He later married Brenda Moon in 1979. She preceded him in death on September 11, 1988. Mr. Schaller was a Field Representative for the Soil Conservation Service. A 1945 graduate of Palmyra and a member of the 1943-1944 White Sweater Team. He was a WWII Navy veteran and a member of the Canton V.F.W. Post #4083 and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include four sons, Mark, James and Rock Schaller, Canton, and Nick Schaller, Olean; eleven grandchildren; and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Denise and one sister, Margaret Jane Schaller. Visitation was Friday, January 11, 2002, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel, Palmyra, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with scripture service at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial was 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2002, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Palmyra with Father Pat Pierceall and Father David Cox officiating.
