David E. Allen passed away on Monday, November 15, 2004, at a Topeka, KS hospital.
He was born April 8, 1927, in Horton, KS the son of David A. and Fern M. O'Dell Allen.
Mr. Allen served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a heavy equipment operator before he retired.
He married Rose Marie Graf on April 23, 1951, in Holton, KS. She passed away on August 4, 1997. Also preceding him in death were his son, Steven E., on July 4, 1977, and an infant grandson in 1968.
Survivors include two sons, Michael D. and Theodore A., both of Topeka; three daughters, Ramona J. Bryant, Carbondale, Linda A. Finch and Rebecca J. Percival, both of Topeka; two brothers, Richard, Topeka, and Jerry, Stover, Mo.; five sisters, Vera Harrington, Emporia, Patricia Wells, Eudora, Joyce Davis, Billings, MT, Mary Jo Huffstickler, Norfolk, VA, and Vickie Nichols, Lawrence; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and a rosary by Church of the Assumption will be recited at 7 p.m. The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society, sent in care of the funeral home, 800 S.W. Sixth St., Topeka 66603.
Services for David E. "Jack" Allen, 77, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home in Topeka. Burial will follow in Onaga Cemetery, Onaga, KS.
