Twin Falls - Long-time Twin Falls resident Helen Virginia Cannon, 90, died at St. Luke's Medical Center in Boise on July 10, 2003, of natural causes.

She was born in Mitchelville, Iowa, on Feb. 8, 1913. She was married to Glen Cannon in 1941 and they moved to Twin Falls in 1951.

Helen's interests were her work, her church and her community involvement. She was the church treasurer for 31 years at the First United Methodist Church, Twin Falls, Idaho. Her love of music guided her directing the Youth Church Choir and singing in the church choir. Helen's community involvement gave her much enjoyment. Her association with the Soroptimists brought much joy and business insight to her over her 20-year involvement. Helen's work was a labor of love. She was a teacher at Twin Falls Business College from 1951 to 1963. She was a self-employed certified public accountant from 1955 until her retirement in 1994.

Helen is survived by two sons, Loren and Edward; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Glen Cannon.

Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church, Twin Falls, Idaho.
