05/30/1934~12/01/2010
Sam passed away peacefully in his sleep the morning of Dec. 1st with his family at his side. He often said he couldn't live without his angel and now he's returned to her.
Born in Monroe, UT to Marybah Harmon and Edward Wilcock, he married his soulmate Naomi on July 14th, 1956. Sam devoted the last years of his life to caring for Naomi. Sam worked harder than anyone that knew him. He grew up on a farm and worked with his hands for over 60 years. His gruff exterior hid an enormous heart. Sam loved his grandchildren with his entire being.
He is survived by his sister Lois, children Rick (Jo), Peggy (Jeff), Kristi, seven grandkids and seven great-grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his wife, nine siblings, one daughter, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
A viewing will be held December 10th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Deseret Mortuary on 36 E. 700 South in Salt Lake.
Graveside services will beheld at 2:00 p.m. Dec. 11th at Joseph Cemetery in Joseph, UT.
"It's what you learn after you know it all that counts."
Bio by Nancy Atwood, Cheryl Moala, Kristi Gutke, and several others.
He was the last son of Edward and Marybah Harriet Harmon Wilcock. He had 10 brothers and siters. Ralph Edward, Melvin Henry, Clyde Lorenzo, LeRoy Maxell, Stella Irene, Marion Verl, Luella Marybah, Clella Arlene, Ruby Carol, and Lois Elaine. Lois Elaine Wilcock Atwood is the only child still living.
Uncle Orion married my mother's sister Naomi Ruth Cooley. They lived with us off and on during their 1st years of marriage. She had told me several times that I was like a sister to her and not a neice. They took me in when I needed a place to stay when my twins were just babies. They both are going to be dearly missed.
