Vickie grew up in Forest Park, GA with her parents and brother Keith, and graduated from Forest Park Senior High. She never married and had no children. She moved to Woodstock, Cherokee County, Georgia in 1993, bought her home, and worked for many years with Castleberry Shutter Company. She was known as the "shutter lady". COPD/Asthma brought disability to her life in 2006 and complications from this sent her to live in The Father's House at age 54. She was talented with her hands and was as comfortable with a hammer or saw as she was the shuttle she used to make the beautiful "tatting" lace she supplied family and friends. Vickie enjoyed fishing before outside activity ended that hobby and she turned to free sites of online poker where she made many friends.
Her body was cremated and her ashes buried in a family cemetery plot, (where her father will be buried and where one of her stepmothers is buried)and where her paternal grandparents, great grandparents, 2nd great grandfather and 3rd great grandparents are buried, in Odgen Baptist Church Cemetery, Bentonia, Yazoo County, MS, a church that had its beginning in the early 1800s.
