Vernon C. Abadie, Sr., died Saturday, July 21, 1990, at his residence in Baton Rouge. He was 71, a native of Wallace. He was retired branch manager with Nabisco Foods, and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ada W. Abadie of Reserve; five daughters, Claudette Blinov, and Janet McKenzie, both of Flower Mound, Texas, Cheryl Bybee of Helotes, Texas, and Cindy Copsey, and Laura Willis, both of Baton Rouge; two sons, Vernon Abadie, Jr., of Lewisville, Texas, and Vincent Abadie of Greenwell Springs; five sisters, Antoinette Roussel, and Ruth Casse, both of Metairie, Rita Camello of LaPlace, Vivian Huber of Baton Rouge, and Mabel Garland of Galena Park, Texas; seven brothers, Maurice Abadie of Metairie, Leo Abadie of Baton Rouge, Gerard and Conrad Abadie, both of Reserve, Harold Abadie of Lake Charles, Lyman Abadie of Gonzales, and Amedee Abadie of LaPlace; and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Amadee Abadie.
