The Rev. Stanley P. Gladfelter, 82., of Whiting, Manchester Township, died Tuesday at Logan Manor Nursing Home, Whiting. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1952 and later served in the following parishes: Church of Our Saviour, Mountoursville, Pa., Church of the Nativity, New Castle, Del., associate rector at St. John's, Lawnsdowne, Pa. and as rector of St. James Episcopal Church, Bristol, Pa., for 18 years retiring in 1981. He then served as interim pastor of Christ Church, Toms River, and remained on the staff until 1991.

He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a graduate of Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Pa., and the Virginia Theological Seminary. Rev. Gladfelter was born in Athens, N.Y., and lived in Whiting for the past 16 years.
