VAUGHN - Hazel Elizabeth Vaughn of 1333 North First Street, Springfield died March 17, 1897 at a local nursing home at the age of 89. She was born March 4, 1897 in Walterville, Oregon and was the daughter of Samuel and Emma Godard. She had been a homemaker and had lived in the Fall Creek area from 1918 to 1957 before moving to Springfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1964, a son, James L. Vaughn and a daughter, Madge Humphrey. She was a member of the Senior Center Club of Springfield. Survivors include her son, Robert and his wife, Ann Vaughn of Springfield; a daughter, Gladys Kirkpatrick and her husband, Jerry of Springfield; a stepson, Arlo Vaughn of Oakridge; 2 brothers, Denzel Godard of Oakridge and Hugh Godard and his wife, Elsie of Springfield; 5 sisters, Mae Cyrus and her husband, Willard of Sisters, Oregon, Emma Kochis and her husband, George of Covlerdale, Oregon, Ula Smith, Gladys Bryant and Erma Cunningham, all of Springfield; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 19th at 2 p.m. at BUELL CHAPEL. Burial at Mt. Vernon cemetery.
