Edward, age 91, died at his home in Charlotte. He was the son of Arthur Scott and Carolyn (Hill) Thomas. He graduated from Georgia School of Technology in 1940 with an engineering degree and an Army Reserve commission. He served in the US Army with the 503d and 505th Parachute Infantry Regiments until assigned to the US-Canadian First Special Service Force. He married Ann Davis about 1957. He is survived by his wife, his daughters, Ann and Carolyn, and two grandchildren. A celebration of life was held at Myers Park Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Arlington National Cemetery.
