Age 82, Lawton - Services will be 2:00 PM Friday in The Christian Center with Pastor Paul Craig, officiating.
Mrs. Appleby died Monday in a local hospital.
Interment will be in Elgin Memorial Lawn, Elgin, under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.
She was born on December 2, 1923 in Otto, Kansas to Frank and Goldie (Stark) Blenden. She married James N. Appleby in Cedar Vale, Kansas on December 25, 1941. He died on July 11, 2005. She worked in the OSU Extension office as a nutritional aide for many years before retiring. She also volunteered many times at Eisenhower Elementary School in Lawton.
Survivors include her daughter, Audrey Appleby of Lawton; two sisters, Nola Hilgardner of Topeka, Kansas, and Freda Coyle of Arkansas City, Kansas; a sister-in-law, Lavina Blenden of Cedar Vale, Kansas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Her parents, husband and four brothers, Irvin, Elston, Melvin and Leslie Blenden, preceded her in death.
