Dr. Howard C., born Nov. 12, 1904 at Sherman, TX. Son of Dr. and Mrs. William Martin. Graduated from Sapulpa High School, Sapulpa, OK, went to Missouri University for his first year in pre-medical study, then transferring to Okla. University for additional studies. While at the University of Oklahoma he was a letterman on the football team and graduated from the University of Oklahoma Medical School in 1929. He had his internship at Los Angeles County General Hospital for 2 years. He returned to Okc for private practice. Dr. Martin was a member of the A.M.A. and life member of Oklahoma State County Medical Society. He belonged to the retired doctors Association and was a member of the Missouri Alpha Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and also a member of the Phi Beta Pi Medical Fraternity and a 32nd Degree Mason with the Siloam Lodge. He was in the reserve of the US Army and served 5 1/2 years active duty during WWII, overseas duty in Australia, New Guinea and Phillipines and was later recalled to active duty in the US Air Force during Korean Conflict for 21 months. He later retired as Colonel in the US Air Force for time served. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Trina; son, Dr. Keith L. Martin, Orange, CA and daughter, Mrs. Richard Harris (Sheila) of Bartlesville, OK; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
