Mr. Joseph H. Mills died on Summit Street at the home of his son, Mr. Fred Mills on last Thursday.
He was 77 years old. Mr. Mills grew up and lived most of his life in the Spencer Community. He was a good church member, kind neighbor and a useful citizen.
He is survived by two sons, Messrs. Fred and Judson Mills, four daughters, Mesdames R. R. Merriman, J. A. Tuggle, Arthur Shelton and Miss Katherine Mills and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Pharis.
The burial services were held Friday afternoon at Old Well Christian Church by Ref. J. P. McCabe, Rev. H. W. Dunkley and Rev. G. L. Ahsworth and the body was buried in the church cemetery.
The pall bearers were: Messrs. R. G. Stewart, W. D. Nunn, John T. Franklin, Alva Miles, T. B. Tatum and Samuel Pulliam.
Among the flower bearers were Misses Callie Merriman, Lucy Eanes, Elizabeth Merriman, Mildred Kallam, Clara Wade, Mabel Grogan and Thelma Kallam.
