MONAHANS Donald R. Boggs, age 79, of Monahans, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at Ward Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 4, 1931, in San Angelo, Texas to Ray Thomas Boggs and Claudia Victoria (Watkins) Boggs. He was a production foreman for Arco Oil and Gas. He married Evelyn B. Barnes on May 22, 1949, in McCamey, Texas. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Monahans Masonic Lodge 952, a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason, and past master mason. He received the Golden trowel from the Masonic Lodge.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010, at Southside Baptist Church with Reverend Steven Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Harkey Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Boggs of Monahans; three sons, John Milton Boggs of Monahans, Donald Boggs and wife Carol of Odessa and David Boggs and wife Mary of Midland; two daughters, Cindy Carter and husband Charles of Monahans and Nancy Winkler and husband Danny of Monahans; a brother, Johnny Fred Boggs of Houston; two sisters, Claudean Warren of McCamey and Brenda Jolene Boggs of Missouri, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sonny and Noveen Barnes of Monahans and Wayne and Cathy Barnes of Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Colby Carter of Amarillo, Corey Carter and wife Amanda of Amarillo, Micah Winkler and wife Chelsea of Odessa, Stacie Bowman and husband Josh of Monahans, Daniel Boggs of Midland, Joseph Reeves of Odessa, Shanna Gandy of San Angelo, and Bryan Teeters of Odessa; seven great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Brianna, Kaitlyn, Justin, Paige, and 1 arriving in October and one arriving in January.
