Laura Lee Prince Lilley of Sussex, widow of H. H. "Sam" Lilley, died on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 9, 2010 in her home. She was born July 10, 1930, the daughter of the late Carl W. Prince, Sr. and Laura Dobie Prince. She was preceded in death by her brothers, David D. Prince and Carl W. Prince, Jr. and a precious niece, Ann Paige Prince Wright. Survivors include two daughters, Carla Riedel Lilley of Sussex and Leslie Lilley Kellenberger and husband, Jim, of Raleigh. She cherished each member of her family, treasured her friends and dearly loved all those closest to her. A funeral service led by The Reverend Wilson Conwell was held graveside 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Readville Baptist Church, Sussex. Virginia. Honorary pallbearers were Brownley Cox, Morgan Thornton, Jimmy Thomas, Harold Conover, Butch Simmons, Gene Ellis, Tommy Tewell, Scott Duncan, Paulin Cheatham, Shep Cheatham, Dell Cheatham and Grant Cheatham. Active pallbearers were David D. Prince, Jr., Thomas Craig Prince, John Jethro Lilley, III, Richard Emmerson, Hunt Emmerson and Alvin Cheatham. Owen Funeral Home, Jarratt, Virginia assisted the family with arrangements.
