Mildred "Midge" Lorraine Evans, age 88, of Toulon, Ill., died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at Toulon Health Care Center in Toulon, Ill.

Midge was born on Saturday, July 28, 1917, in Fairview, Ill., the daughter of Thomas and Ada Stone Slater. She married Robert R. Blagden, who preceded her in death in 1966, and William B. Evans, who preceded her in death in 1993.

Midge is survived by one daughter, Janeen (and Jack) Scherer of Wyoming, Ill.; and one son, Jack R. Bailey and his special friend, Jack "Lyman" Binder, of Elmwood, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Joyce Ohlmann; one granddaughter, Sheena Webb; four brothers; three sisters; and her special friend, John Cornwell.

Midge attended Midstate College and the Flamingo Beauty College.

She operated her own beauty shop in Rome, Ill. She also worked at Caterpillar in East Peoria, Ill., and Great Central Insurance Company in Peoria, Ill.

She was a member of the V.F.W. Post 4999 Ladies Auxiliary in Chillicothe; American Legion in Wyoming, Ill.; and several bowling leagues in Chillicothe, Ill.; and she enjoyed playing the organ at several nursing homes in the area throughout the years.

Burial will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery.
