Obituary - The Lanark Era - Mar.21,1917-
Dalhousie Lake, Thursday, March 8th, William B. Geddes, aged 50 years, 2 mos. & 13 days. He was born in North Sherbrooke, on December 26th, 1866, the son of the late Daniel Geddes. He went west to Minnesota and Alberta at the age of 20 and returned due to ill health about 10 years ago. In Sept. 1915, he married Mary Milliken, who survives. Five brothers & five sisters also survive; John, Pilot Mound, Manitoba; David and Adam, Minnesota; Daniel, on the homestead in North Sherbrooke; Mrs. Wm. Legary, Crystal City, Man.; Mrs. James Darou, Ardoch; Mrs. Alex. Ferguson, N. Sherbrooke; Mrs. Jos. Bishop, Edmonton, Alta.; and Mrs. Robert Nisbet, Mallory, Minn. One brother Duncan predeceased him. Burial in Crawford's Cemetery. ---

Geddes - The death of Mr. William B. Geddes occurred on Thursday, March 8th, at Dalhousie Lake, after an illness from anaemia. Deceased was born in North Sherbrooke in Dec. 1866. When about twenty years of age he went West, but his health failing he returned to Dalhousie about ten years ago and purchased a farm at Dalhousie Lake, where he had resided until his demise. On September 22nd, 1915, he married Mary Millikin, who survives him. He was a son of the late Daniel Geddes and was one of a family of eleven, of whom nine survive : (Barbara) Mrs. Wm. Legary, Crystal City, Man.; (Agnes) Mrs. Alex. Ferguson, North Sherbrooke; (Maggie) Mrs. James Darou, Ardoch; (Jennie) Mrs. Josephus Bishop, Edmonton; (Tena) Mrs. Robert Nisbet, Mallory, Minn; John, Pilot Mound, Man.; David and Adam, Grand Forks, N.D.; Duncan (deceased) and Daniel on the old homestead, North Sherbrooke. Services were conducted by the Rev. A. J. McMullen and remains were interred in Crawford's cemetery.
