He is survived by his two daughters: Edelmira Hernandez of Odessa and Lorena Herrera of Midland; two sons: Rene Acosta Levario and Fernando Acosta Levario, both of Odessa; four sisters: Petronila Sanchez, Cruz Acosta, Chela Acosta, and Erminia Acosta, all of Mexico; one brother: Manuel Acosta of Mexico; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Rosary was said 8 September 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was 9 September 2010, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, officiated by Father Arturo Pestin. Pallbearers were Fernando Acosta, Rene Acosta, Enrique Hernandez, Eli Aranda, Luis Herrera, and Edgar Morales. Interment: Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery in Odessa.
